Which image format should I choose?
- JPG: best compatibility for photos; no transparency.
- PNG: lossless, sharp edges and transparency; ideal for logos and screenshots, but large for photos.
- BMP: uncompressed, for old software that needs it.
- ICO: website favicons and Windows icons.
- AVIF: newest format, even smaller than WebP, saving needs Chrome or Edge.
- WebP: modern format, typically 25 to 35% smaller than JPG at similar quality and supports transparency; great for websites.
Frequently asked questions
Which formats can I convert?
Input: PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF (first frame), BMP, ICO, SVG and AVIF, plus anything else your browser can open. Output: JPG, PNG, WebP, BMP, ICO (favicon, up to 256 px) and AVIF where your browser supports saving it (Chrome and Edge do).
Will converting to JPEG keep transparency?
No. JPEG does not support transparency, so transparent areas become white. Choose PNG or WebP if you need to keep a transparent background.
Is WebP supported everywhere?
All modern browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari 14+) display WebP. Some older desktop apps and upload forms still only accept JPG or PNG, which is a common reason to convert WebP to JPG.
Can I convert many images at once?
Yes. Select or drop several files and each one is converted to the chosen format. Download them individually or use "Download all".
Are my files private?
Yes. Conversion runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, and the files disappear when you close the tab.
