Frequently asked questions

Which files can I trim?

Video: MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, M4V. Audio: MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, Opus, FLAC. The clip is saved in the same format as the original.

What is the difference between Fast and Precise?

Fast copies the original data without re-encoding, so it takes seconds and keeps full quality, but video cuts snap to the nearest keyframe and may start up to a few seconds early. Precise re-encodes the clip for frame accurate cuts and takes longer. Audio cuts are accurate either way.

How do I pick the part to keep?

Drag the two handles under the player. The preview jumps to each handle so you can see exactly where the clip starts and ends. You can also type exact times like 90, 1:30 or 1:02:03.5.

Is my file uploaded?

No. Trimming runs locally in your browser with ffmpeg in WebAssembly. Very large files may be slow or fail for lack of memory.
